Waynetown - Elmer R. Harlan, 92, died at 12:20 a.m. Friday at Small's rest Home here, where he had lived the last six months. He had been seriously ill five months. He was born August 23, 1872 in Boone County to Joshua and Mary Booth Harlan. He married Lillian Irene Ingersoll in Fountain County August 25, 1895. She died December 17, 1959. Mr. Harlan was a member of the Waynetown Christian Church and Waynetown Masonic Lodge. He was educated in Boone County, moving to Waynetown in 1879. He was a carpenter and contractor until retirement in 1946. He is survived by three sons, Clarence of Attica; Vernie and Harry both of Waynetown; a sister, Minnie Fye of Detroit; 7 grandchilldren; 8 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, four brothers and two great grandchildren. Masonic rites will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Services will be at 1:30 Monday at Servies Funeral Home, Rev. Keith Ogier will officiate. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Sunday.
